Goals
Tell That to Your Mom is my original opening credits sequence for a movie. I wanted to create something super dynamic; this was a collaborative effort with Josiah "Jazz" Zehr.

Inspiration
Inspiration
My main inspiration for this project was the opening credits sequence from Superbad. I wanted to replicate the style while adding my own original elements to it.
Starting Out
Starting Out
To start, I had to get the green screen recording of my collaborator, Josiah, and I dancing to the song. After getting enough footage, I moved it into After Effects and used a solid color layer track matte over our silhouettes to create the figures.

We had a creative disagreement at the beginning, one of us wanted to push fluctuating colors while the other wanted to scale back on that. We came to the compromise of getting rid of some of the flashiness but still keeping the energy.

Finishing Touches
Finishing Touches
The major changes that made my final video really pop are the shapes and the color palette that we incorporated. We also added blending modes to create contrast when the figures intersected feeding into the dynamic element even more.
